Porsche 944 turbo
The Porsche 944 Turbo below has been my car for the past eight years. Its been the best car anyone could ask for. It never goes wrong and apart from a head gasket replacement in 1998, up until this year has only ever needed routine servicing, tyres, and brakes. This year I was going to sell it and move on, but I couldn't find anything that I could replace it with. So I decided to spend a bit of money on it and keep it for a while longer. First came a Huntley Racing Chipset from the States, together with an Adjusta-boost valve. Now wound up and producing 300BHP I thought it was time for a clutch, a new torque tube bearing that had been irritating me in the background for a while and a new KKK Turbocharger. As it happened I had all the belts changed and a few tensioners and pulleys at the same time.

The work was carried out by a former Porsche Trained Mechanic called Andrew Kirk in Argyle St Ind Estate, Birkenhead. The turbo was rebuilt by The Turbo Clinic in Eastham on the Wirral.
Time for a little bit of good old-fashioned maintenance here
